22 Food Place We Should Try Along The Thomson Line

The construction of Thomson Line (TSL) has been completed and we are sure some of the station names are unrecognizable or even known off.

The newly completed train line is an initiative to further minimize travel time and also to reduce congestion from the fully utilized Green and Red (EW & NS) lines.

We have compiled for you all the landmarks, hot-spots and places where you can enjoy yourself. 

Let’s start from North till the end – South Literally cross country!

 

1) WOODLANDS NORTH

Sakura International Buffet – The buffet that comes with a nature view.

It is held in an open seat and 8-10 minutes walk from the station (31 Riverside Road, Admiralty Park, Singapore 739087).

 

2) WOODLANDS

The heart of the north so they say, upcoming office space and wide variety of eatery, Woodlands will be buzzing with people from all walks of life. There’s tons of food you can find at Causeway point Shopping Center but if you feel like some supper, Al Ameen Eating Corner is a 5 minutes walk (35 Marsiling Industrial Estate Rd 3, #01-11, Singapore 739257).


3) WOODLANDS SOUTH

Nothing much can be done here besides schools and some amenities like Ace The Place building. However, a stone throw away, you can find a place called Sedap dan Sihat Steam Pot Delicacy. (#01-20 Vista Point, 548 Woodlands Drive 44, Singapore 730548)

 

4) SPRINGLEAF

Shops and more shops. If you are looking to have a chill some more with small bars or even dine in at Han’s, this is the place to be. But if you are looking for a night supper, Springleaf Prata Place is nearby, it sells prata(s) that is different – think about cheese filled prata and runny eggs. 5) LENTOR

House, houses and more houses. It’s sad to say that there isn’t much food around here, but if you insist on trying some new dishes, there is the Mr Teh Tarik around the 500m radius of the station (Ang Mo Kio Ave 5, #01-2771 Block 608, Singapore 560608)

 

6) MAYFLOWER

 A walk-able distance from Mayflower Market & Food Centre , a place with some food that is to try for like the Ba Chor Mee, Prawn Noodles and many more! However, in this secluded area, if you are looking for a seafood platter, there’s one named ‘Mellben Seafood’ (232 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3, St 22, #01-1222, 560232)

 

7) BRIGHT HILL

Another station with housing surrounding it. But food? There is GRUB right in Bishan Park. Did you know, the Kallang River runs through this park? (Blk 403, Sin Ming Road, #01-305 Singapore)

 

8) UPPER THOMSON

Food galore? This place is the one you should be referring to. Its all food place connected to it. If you are looking for some food, there is The Roti Prata House (which sells more than just prata BTW!) around and you can always end it with some desserts at Udders and Rochor Beancurd House (246 Upper Thomson Rd, Singapore 574370)

 

9) CALDECOT

Nothing really much here when you have food in your plan but in the 500m proximity, you can get a place where it brings you to Thailand. It is called the Bangkok D.K. Thai Food. (125 Lor 2 Toa Payoh, Singapore 311125)

 

10) MT. PLEASANT

Situated near where most of the ‘old-timer’ Police Officers trained, the Old Police Academy is now where at times some will go to do their IPPT. A stone throw away is the Senior Police Officer’s Mess. The Bistro there is a must try! (153 Mount Pleasant Rd, Singapore 298341)

 

11) STEVENS

If you are craving Japanese food, we have Miyabi Japanese Restaurant  just around the corner within the proximity of the Raffles Town Club. This stations stretches from one end of the flyover to another, so be sure to exit the right one (1 Plymouth Ave, Singapore 297753)

 

12) NAPIER

A walk-able distance to the Singapore Botanic Garden where the scenary is cool and relaxing. The Halia is an eatery with a view. Serving nice pallete of food and drinks. The place is majestic. (1 Cluny Road, Ginger Garden Singapore Botanic Garden, 259569)

 

13) ORCHARD BOULEVARD

Its another food galore hear in sub-town, however, it does comes with a price. Maybe this time, head over to Dolcetto by Basilico (yeap the famous brand for pasta) to get some ingredients to cook it up yourself? (Regent Singapore Lobby Level, 1 Cuscaden Rd, Singapore 249715)

 

14) ORCHARD

Nothing more we can recommend or bring up here when the shopping malls are filled with food places. Having cuisines from all around the world, if you feel like some around the world food, this place could be just for you.

 

15) GREAT WORLD

The place where it used to be buzzing with people. Great World City is occupied with mainly Japanese cuisines and some Thai places. One places that do have great ratings is the Kuriya Dining. Give it a try! (1 Kim Seng Promenade #01-28 Great World City 237934, Singapore 237934

 

16) HAVELOCK

Reviews have been good for this one, what more the price. If you are into Fishball Noodles with refreshing soups, you might one to head over to Eng Huat Fishball Mee found in one of those shop-houses. (Stall 26, 22B Havelock Rd, Singapore 162022)

 

17) OUTRAM PARK

Plenty of food here as well. There, Chicken Rice stalls opening as late as 12am but since we our list lacks korean food, lets feature this one – Don Dae Bak. Its rating is above average as well. (35 Kreta Ayer Rd, Singapore 089000)

 

18) MAXWELL

Maxwell station and its Food Center is just side by side and it will get you excited. If you are looking for some halal option, Hajmeer Kwaja Muslim Food is the place to go as it rates one of the best food there! But be known, it closes on Monday (1 Kadayanallur St, Singapore 069184)

 

19) SHENTON WAY

Its all been Asia delights throughout this list and for Shenton Way, a business district, we shall present to you Guzman Y Gomez. 20) MARINA BAY

Like most business district, food can be of abundance and it does come with a few varieties. After having some standalone cuisine, a seafood place in a business district could spell ‘big hit’. If you can survive that long in the district, it means you are that good. Head over to Nude Seafood (12, #01-02 Marina Blvd, Tower 3 Marina Bay Financial Centre, Singapore 018982)

 

21) MARINA SOUTH

22) GARDENS BY THE BAY

The local delicacy, satay. Enjoy it while on the bay? With a unique view unlike any other. Its called the Satay on the Bay, visited by both locals and tourist alike. (#01, 18 Marina Gardens Dr, 19, Singapore 018953)
