In the era where technological advancement and developing infrastructure is the key to be a better country, there is still one topic where it matters most – being environmentally responsible.
The subject of being responsible is wide and vague to some, however, where efforts are in place and intentions are there even if it is small, it plays a huge part in the revolution.
A recent innovation to use materials that can be reused, recycled and compost able material was developed and was termed N.E.S.T. (Next Evolution in Sustainable Building Technologies) The concept was devised by Werner Sobek with Dirk E. Hebel and Felix Heisel. Werner Sobek is Director of the Institute for Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design at the University of Stuttgart and founder of the Werner Sobek Group. Dirk E. Hebel is the Director and Felix Heisel is the Head of Research at the Chair of Sustainable Construction at KIT Karlsruhe and the Future Cities Laboratory at the Singapore-ETH Center.
These efforts would spell a new beginning to the construction industry where more responsibility will be placed pertaining to the environment. In the olden days, construction was deemed as an activity to disrupt the Eco system – a move away from being environmentally responsible. However, the action of construction gives birth to a new meaning as it joins the rest of the world to maintain a positive culture of changing.
Where there is room for innovation, there will bound to be positivity in doing the unthinkable. Though the process could be lengthy and slow, construction materials will have to evolve itself to be a more environmentally friendly for it to be valued for its usage.
As for us, a Noise Barrier company, though we are doing our part in reducing Noise Pollution, perhaps, we would be indulging in materials that are more environment friendly and it will definitely be a new generation of Noise Barriers that spherehead its industry.
