Fences are installed primarily to secure a property. They are constructed in residential, commercial, and industrial areas to ensure protection and safety from risks of intrusion. Fences come in different forms and types, mostly depending on purpose. They may also come in permanent and temporary forms. It is therefore important to know the type of fencing to use on your property, so that you can maximise its benefits on your property. When do you need temporary fencing? Below are the following situations:

  1. Hosting an event on open grounds.

If you are using an open ground property for events such as parties and concerts, then a temporary fence would be useful. This type of fencing can be used to partition spaces to segregate the area being used from those that are kept vacant. After each event, the temporary fences can also be stored easily until the next event.

Events in open grounds need to be protected due to various risks such as gate crashers and other types of unauthorised entry. For instance, some private parties are held in open grounds, so the venue has to be secured to avoid uninvited individuals from coming in. Concerts on the other hand usually require guests to purchase tickets before they are admitted, and fencing helps establish crowd control.

  1. Construction projects.

Construction projects can be noisy and distracting to surrounding neighbours. They are also temporary activities, which usually last from several weeks to a few months to complete.

Temporary fencing is then used to protect the construction premises from affecting bystanders and neighbouring areas from obstructions, such as falling debris and unwanted noise coming from running equipment. At the same time, fencing helps protect the construction area from intrusions, especially from robbers.

However, for Construction projects, temporary fencing is not the most optimal solution, as its properties are not qualified enough to solve construction noise problems. For Construction projects, you can refer to Temporary Noise Control Barriers.

  1. Protect public areas from vandalism.

Public areas such as parks and open grounds undergo maintenance and renovations from time to time. Temporary fencing is set up around these areas to secure them from vandalism, as they can be highly vulnerable to damage and accidents. Moreover, the fencing can also help to keep the children away from restricted areas, as children are often curious and will try to sneak inside these areas if they have a chance to do so.

The temporary fences are designed with hooks, which allow them to integrate and protect a large area.

Temporary fencing is common heritage sites that are being renovated, and also in wildlife reserves being expanded.

  1. Farming and gardening projects.

Temporary fencing is also used in farming and gardening activities. This is especially true in urban gardens, where fences are used not only to protect the area itself, but as extensions for vertical gardening.

Fences make it easier for urban orchards to be moved from one area to another, depending on their need and purpose.

Meanwhile, animal farms use temporary fences to secure livestock and prevent them from running around the land without supervision, or when they are being led to an indoor facility and vice versa.

Where permanent fencing becomes useful

Permanent fencing on the other hand is more common in properties that require increased security. These include landed residential properties, as high and rigid fences serve as a deterrent against trespassers.

Industrial properties also benefit from permanent fencing since they contain valuable items within their premises. Permanent fences can be installed with additional security measures, such as barbed wire and CCTV cameras to monitor the activities taking place outside the property’s premises.
